Grooming & Framing Protocol

Hair, brows and beard as architecture around the face

Framing is the fastest-acting lever you own. A haircut changes perceived face shape in an afternoon; nothing else in aesthetics works that quickly.

Match the cut to the shape

  • Round or soft midface: height on top, tight sides. Vertical volume lengthens.
  • Long or oblong: width at the sides, less height, a fuller fringe to shorten the face.
  • Square or strong jaw: textured crop or mid-length styles that soften nothing — lean into the angularity.
  • Heart shape: fuller sides at the jawline to balance a wider forehead.

Beard as a geometry tool

  • Define the neckline one to two finger-widths above the Adam's apple, curved not straight.
  • Keep the cheek line natural and high; over-carving reads artificial.
  • Extra length at the chin extends a short face; tighter sides sharpen a wide one.

Brows

  • Clean the glabella and strays only. The brow body stays untouched.
  • Brush upward and outward; set with a clear gel for a lifted, higher-contrast eye region.

Eyewear

  • Contrast the frame shape against the face shape — angular frames on round faces, rounded or softened rectangles on square faces.
  • Frame width should match or slightly exceed the widest point of the face.
  • Keep the top bar near the brow line; it borrows the brow's contrast.
